A very good tour of the meteors with the beautiful light at the end of the day. A small group (around 15 people) which made the tours enjoyable. Giannis was a very good guide with lots of interesting info and little bits of humor :) Thank you

On 11 september 2025 at 04:00PM my wife and i did the Guided Tour - Sunset Booking ID: 27239824 A magnificent tour.We were also lucky to have a fantastic guide. A cheerfull girl/woman with a very clear voice who spoke english very well. Unfortunatly i forgot here name. A lot of kudos for this lady. She knew a lot about the different monastries, the monks , the nuns , the surroundings, the history and more. No moment of boredom. Extra points for the driver who managed to keep us safe in the rush at the monastries and in the narrow streets of Kalambaka.

It can't really go wrong, given the grandeur and beauty of the site. However, if you're relying on the audioguides advertised on the net, let's talk about a 25-minute promotional video available on youtube and detached from the on-site visit. Let's just say you'll need to speak perfect English to benefit from the guide's explanations. French-language tours are rarer.

The number of tour participants was small, which made it not overly touristy. The guide gave us lots of information in a clear and attentive manner. Super recommended

Top things to do in Athens

Meteora at Sunset

You leave the city behind and roll across the Thessalian plain toward a skyline of sandstone pillars and cliff-top monasteries. Your guide times the route for late-day light, so you step out at panoramic pull-offs while the rocks warm from gold to amber. No rental car or no navigating hairpins! Just a small group, easy transfers from Kalambaka or Kastraki, and a few unhurried hours to watch the light do its work. Sunset shifts by season, so start times and temperatures change with it. In summer you’re out later, returning after dark; in cooler months you start earlier and carry a light layer.
